Ingredients
1 lb beef sirloin or flank steak, thinly sliced
1 onion, sliced
3–4 green onions, cut into 1-inch pieces
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp hoisin sauce
1 tbsp freshly cracked black pepper
1 tsp cornstarch
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp vegetable oil
Cooked rice (for serving)
Instructions
Step 1: Marinate the Beef
In a bowl, mix the sliced beef with cornstarch and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce. Set aside to marinate while preparing other ingredients.
Step 2: Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, combine the remaining soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, and freshly cracked black pepper. Stir well and set aside.
Step 3: Cook the Beef
Heat vegetable oil in a wok or large skillet over high heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for a few seconds until fragrant.
Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned and nearly cooked through.
Step 4: Add the Vegetables
Add the sliced onion and green onions. Stir-fry for 2–3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender but still crisp.
Step 5: Add the Sauce
Pour in the prepared sauce and stir-fry until everything is evenly coated and heated through.
Step 6: Serve
Serve hot over cooked rice.
