Ingredients:
For the Beef & Gravy:
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion, chopped
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
For the Mashed Potatoes:
- 4 large potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 tbsp butter
- ½ cup milk (or more, for creaminess)
- Salt to taste
Instructions:
- Prepare the Mashed Potatoes:
Boil potatoes in salted water until tender (about 15-20 minutes). Drain, mash with butter and milk, and season with salt. - Cook the Beef & Gravy:
In a skillet, cook ground beef and onion until browned. Drain excess fat.
Push the beef to one side of the pan, melt butter in the empty space, and whisk in flour to make a roux.
Slowly pour in beef broth, stirring constantly, until gravy thickens. Add garlic powder, salt, and pepper. - Serve:
