Perfect Prime Rib
Ingredients:
- 1 prime rib roast with or without bone (any size)
- Garlic powder
- Salt
- Pepper
Directions:
- Preheat oven to 550°F (287°C).
- Make a rub of salt, pepper, and garlic powder, and apply it to the meat. Place the meat in a shallow roasting pan with the fat side up.
- Roast at 550°F, allowing 5 minutes per pound for RARE, 6 minutes per pound for MEDIUM, and 7 minutes per pound for WELL DONE.
- Turn off the oven at the end of the cooking time and DO NOT OPEN THE OVEN DOOR for TWO HOURS.
- At the end of the 2 hours, remove the meat from the oven to slice; it comes out perfect every time.
- This method also works the same with roast beef.
